We were up before sunrise to get a head start on the day before the heat. Made good time until about Noon. We had just made it to Eagle Rock - a cool group of rocks which is shaped like an eagle. I crashed and burned. We only had 4 more miles to go until we got to a bed and shower (Warner Springs), but my body was in slow motion. I can't believe how much the heat slows me down. We managed to eventually get to Warner Springs - which is a a large resort with a small gas station and post office. Picked up our resupply box and got a room at the resort. Headed across the street for grub at the golf course grille. After food, we headed straight to our room for showers. I found the resort laundromat (ie: one washer/dryer). Met up with PCT hiker Don from CA who was doing laundry as well. Tom's blisters continue to be problematic and I am exhausted from the heat. We can't wait to get a good night's sleep in a real bed.
