May 16th - Warner Springs to Jeep Trail

We were up early and on the trail by 4:30am. Loved the early AM hiking. Stopped for breakfast at Agua Caliente Creek - it was great to finally be walking alongside a creek for once. Saw 2 snakes on the way up - no rattlesnakes though. Our goal was to make it to trail angel Mike Herrera's house - our afternoon break 17 miles down the trail. We made it to Mike's about 1:30pm and were proud of ourselves for making good time. It didn't seem as hot on the trail as it had in the past. Mike wasn't home, but we found the Matt's and Luke and Jana from AK/OR crashed out in the shack. There was no room in the shack for us, so we took up residence on Mike's porch. We all headed out in the afternoon for another climb. We ended up camping with the Matt's near a jeep road - total of 25 miles for the day.
