Took care of some last minute chores this morning and then hitched to the trail. This time we decided to hitch rather than start where we got off the trail. We skipped 26 miles of trail and gained a day. That's right. We cheated. After having completed 1800 miles of hiking, I think we deserved it.
Trail Angel Lisa told us that a thru hike is about the "smiles not miles." I believe that our decision to skip 26 miles lives up to those words.
