August 14th - Cat Hill Way Trail to Mile 1821

Tom devised a new routine for us to help my fatigue. The plan was to leave at our usual time - 6am, take lunch an hour earlier at 10am, eat dinner an hour earlier at 3pm, with a couple of snack stops at 8am and 1pm. With a bump up of eating times we hoped to move faster (3mph) in order to make 30 miles by 6pm and allow us more recovery time.

I also tried bumping up my protein intake. I have been having a lot of trouble getting enough protein. Cliff bars and cheese is just not cutting it. Added some chicken to my cheese tortilla wraps and ate a Clif Builder bar which has mounds of protein. Worked wonders! Don't know if it was the placebo effect or not, but I feel good all day and was able to maintain a 3mph pace. Made it a little over 30 miles by 7pm and didn't feel beat up. Think we'll keep up the new "plan".
