We woke up happy to be done with all of the major High Sierra passes and one of the dangerous creek fords. Today we just had to go up a minor pass - Selden Pass - then cross Bear Creek - the other notoriously "dangerous" ford.
The day was uneventful except for me falling off a log while trying to cross a creek. Somehow I managed to land on both feet and only got wet up to mid-thigh. We reached Bear Creek just as another storm started to roll in. Once again, we were attempting a creek ford late in the day.
Tom started to cross, but quickly turned around. He said the current was just too strong to cross. We ended up going upstream a few yards to a wide spot. We both managed to cross safely, but walking in fast-moving, mid-thigh deep water was a bit unnerving (???) We breathed a sigh of relief once we were across.
We managed several more miles including a steep downhill section of endless switchbacks. Found a fantastic campsite right befor Mono Creek with a huge fire pit. We treated ourselves to a lovely campfire.
